Summary

Opinion
If Grease has earned the reputation of a reference in American musicals of the 70s, it is not only because it has an unforgettable soundtrack and perfectly mastered choreography. It is also because, even if it may seem kitsch, its scenario is a rather sarcastic image of the American youth of the fifties, with its clichés, certainly outrageous, on the university life and the fashions of the time.
Anecdote
No less than 100,000 pieces of chewing gum were consumed by the actors during the shooting.

High school musical (2006)
Summary
On New Year’s Eve, during a karaoke party, the very popular captain of the Wildcats basketball team Troy Bolton and the shy Gabriella Montez find themselves singing a duet. They think they’ll never see each other again, but when Troy returns from vacation, he is surprised to find Gabriella, who has just moved away, in the same class as him at East High School in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Opinion
This musical has marked many a teenager. We move, we sing, we dance and we fall back into childhood. This TV movie deserved its success and we will move even more with the 2nd. The musics are fantastic and do not leave us more of the head! If you want to spend a moment of relaxation, do not hesitate any more.
Anecdote
East High School is a real school. Moreover, the classes took place normally during the shooting of the film.

Mamma mia (2008)
Summary
The adventure begins in 1999 on the Greek island of Kalokairi, in an isolated Mediterranean hotel, Villa Donna, owned by Donna. Her daughter Sophie, about to get married, has secretly invited three men to her wedding who, according to her mother’s diary, are likely to be her father. She dreams that her father will walk her down the aisle at her wedding, and is convinced that she can find out which of the three will be her father by spending time with them. Opinion
This is THE musical that puts you in a good mood with a nostalgic helping of ABBA, enhanced by the beautiful scenery of the Greek islands. It’s warm, full of sun, colors, music, full of happiness. All the actors are having fun and it shows, you can’t help but be caught up in this whirlwind of songs and madness.
Anecdote
It’s no secret that all the songs in the film are covers of the Swedish band, Abba. In fact, two of the band’s members took part in the production and made an appearance in the film: Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus.

Lalaland (2016)
Summary
In the heart of Los Angeles, an aspiring actress named Mia serves coffee between auditions. On his side, Sebastian, a jazz enthusiast, is a pianist in clubs to make a decent living. Both are far from the dream life they aspire to, but they develop feelings for each other.
Opinion
It has all the ingredients to be a reference in this field: the costumes, the story, the characters, and especially the music. What really sets Lalaland apart from other musicals is its slightly vintage style and its sublime choreography. A gripping love story tinged with a touch of humor against a backdrop of bewitching and rhythmic music. This comedy succeeds in transporting the spectator into a world where only romance and melody are allowed.
Anecdote
Ryan Gosling is a musician at heart, it is not an understudy who plays Sebastian on the piano, but him. He had to take two hours of lessons a day, and this, for almost six weeks.

The greatest showman (2017)
Summary
In the 1870s, the American entrepreneur Phineas Taylor Barnum sought to develop an entertainment business to improve the living conditions of his family. It is in this context that he creates the freak show, a show composed of comedians with unique characteristics and abilities. His story celebrates the birth of show business and the wonder of making dreams come true.
Opinion
Between the casting, the sets, the music and the visuals, everything is there. The choreography, between dances and acrobatics, is pleasant to watch. The songs, rhythmic or moving, stay in your head long after the show. It is a musical filled with hope and truth in the life of every human being ! The head in the stars and stars in the eyes! Such was the state in whicha one finds oneself at the end of this fabulous show.

The greatest showman is inspired by a true story.
